I’m beginning to love OSX for personal and work use. The way in which I can move around, easily move between desktop spaces, customize my screen, icons, windows, etc. It all just makes more sense than working with Windows. The one feature I do love most about Windows is window snapping but even OSX has that now.. with more features.
Let’s not get into OSX and Windows. OSX is just a better tool for me to get the job done. So here are some of my favorite applications:
Evernote – Free – Where all my notes go. I organize all my Cisco certification notes in this app. With the iPhone app installed, I can review anywhere, anytime.
TextMate – $53 – Preferred over TextEdit. Used daily from editing configuration files to writing quick notes down.
1Password – $50 – Absolute must for password security. Great way to integrate with web browsers, generate strong passwords and sync across platforms – including mobile devices.
Chrome – Free – What I love about Chrome is the built in syncing of bookmarks, settings, and add-ons. It’s a lightweight browser and works quickly for me.
iTerm – Free -My preferred way of using the CLI.
Omnigraffle – $99 – The OSX version of Visio. Does the job for me if I don’t feel like using a virtual machine.
